This procedure will outline the steps on how to verify and modify DNS settings for Dial-Up customers (using a standard phone line and a modem to access the Internet) using Macintosh Open Transport. If you are running a Macintosh using older operating software (i.e., System 7.1) that does not use Open Transport, click here.

 

1. Go to APPLE > CONTROL PANELS > TCP/IP

 

2. Verify that your window is identical to the illustration below. Refer to the table below for the primary and secondary DNS servers closest to your area. Once changes have been made, close the window and save changes. If this information is already entered, you do not need to do anything. Close your window.

 

Pacific Bell/Nevada Bell Territory
Select the server nearest to you as your Primary:

Los Angeles: 206.13.29.12 San Diego: 206.13.30.12
Sacramento: 206.13.31.12 San Francisco: 206.13.28.12

 

 

3. Your DNS settings are now properly configured for Pacific Bell Internet Services.
