Problem:
The Windows dialer launches whenever you attempt to establish an online connection (check mail, browse the web)Client:

Windows 95/98Solution:
Disable the Windows Auto-Dialer (see procedures below)These procedures vary depending upon your operating system AND other installed programs. Look for the screen shots that match your system. There are four different OPTIONS for Step 4 below.
- Click Start->Settings->Control Panel->Internet (or Internet Options)
- Double-click on the Internet icon.
- Choose the Connection tab.
- Choose the option that best fits the Customer's Internet Control Panel.
- Option One--Deselect the “Connect to the Internet as needed tab”
- Option Two--Select “Connect to the Internet using a local area network” radio button.
- Option Three---Deselect “Use AutoDial”
- Option Four - Click on the radio button, “Never dial a connection.”
Please keep in mind that this feature is part of the Windows Operating System. If this procedure doesn’t work, check the Windows help files. Customers could also contact Microsoft, or their computer manufacturer.
