How to check your basic mail settings on Eudora light

To begin checking your basic Eudora light settings you must first open
Eudora by double-clicking on the Eudora icon usually located on
your desktop.

Now single-click on Tools across the top of the page.

Go down to Options and single-click on it.

Make sure you are on the first option called Getting Started.

Under POP account type in your username@postoffice.pacbell.net
Note: Your username is the first part of your e-mail address.
Example: username@pacbell.net

Under Real name type in your full name.

Under Return address type in your e-mail address with Pacbell.
Example: username@pacbell.net

Under Connection Method place a dot in Winsock (Network, PPP,
SLIP).

Single-click on Personal Info.

Under POP account type in your username@postoffice.pacbell.net
Note: Your username is the first part of your e-mail address.
Example: username@pacbell.net

Under Real name type in your full name.

Under Return address type in your e-mail address with Pacbell.
Example: username@pacbell.net

Leave Dialup username blank.

Single-click on Hosts.

Under POP account type in your username@postoffice.pacbell.net
Note: Your username is the first part of your e-mail address.
Example: username@pacbell.net

Under SMTP type in mail.pacbell.net

Leave Ph blank.

Leave Finger blank.

Single-click on Checking Mail.

Under POP account type in your username@postoffice.pacbell.net
Note: Your username is the first part of your e-mail address.
Example: username@pacbell.net

You may choose to have Eudora check for mail automatically by typing in
the number of minutes next to Check for mail every.

Do not place a check in Skip messages over.
This option limits your capability to download messages if they are over
a specified size.

Place a check in Send on check.
-
If you would like Eudora to remember your mail password, place a check
in Save password.

Do not place a check in Leave mail on server.

Under Determine first unread messages by place a dot in First
message not read by this machine.

Under Authentication style place a dot in Passwords.

Single-click on Sending Mail.

Under Return address type in your e-mail address with Pacbell.
Example: username@pacbell.net

Leave Domain to add to unqualified address blank.

Under SMTP server type in mail.pacbell.net
-
Single-click on Replying.

-
Nothing in here should be checked.

Congratulations! Your basic mail settings are correct and you should
be able to send and receive mail.
