How to check your basic mail settings on Eudora light

1. To begin checking your basic Eudora light settings you must first open Eudora by double-clicking on the Eudora icon usually located on your desktop.



2. Now single-click on Tools across the top of the page.



3. Go down to Options and single-click on it.



4. Make sure you are on the first option called Getting Started.
5. Under POP account type in your username@postoffice.pacbell.net

Note: Your username is the first part of your e-mail address.
Example: username@pacbell.net
6. Under Real name type in your full name.
7. Under Return address type in your e-mail address with Pacbell.

Example: username@pacbell.net
8. Under Connection Method place a dot in Winsock (Network, PPP, SLIP).
9. Single-click on Personal Info.



10. Under POP account type in your username@postoffice.pacbell.net

Note: Your username is the first part of your e-mail address.
Example: username@pacbell.net
11. Under Real name type in your full name.
12. Under Return address type in your e-mail address with Pacbell.

Example: username@pacbell.net
13. Leave Dialup username blank.
14. Single-click on Hosts.



15. Under POP account type in your username@postoffice.pacbell.net

Note: Your username is the first part of your e-mail address.
Example: username@pacbell.net
16. Under SMTP type in mail.pacbell.net
17. Leave Ph blank.
18. Leave Finger blank.
19. Single-click on Checking Mail.



20. Under POP account type in your username@postoffice.pacbell.net

Note: Your username is the first part of your e-mail address.
Example: username@pacbell.net
21. You may choose to have Eudora check for mail automatically by typing in the number of minutes next to Check for mail every.
22. Do not place a check in Skip messages over. 
    This option limits your capability to download messages if they are over a specified size.
23. Place a check in Send on check.
24. If you would like Eudora to remember your mail password, place a check in Save password.
25. Do not place a check in Leave mail on server.
26. Under Determine first unread messages by place a dot in First message not read by this machine.
27. Under Authentication style place a dot in Passwords.
28. Single-click on Sending Mail.



29. Under Return address type in your e-mail address with Pacbell.

Example: username@pacbell.net
30. Leave Domain to add to unqualified address blank.
31. Under SMTP server type in mail.pacbell.net
32. Single-click on Replying.



33. Nothing in here should be checked.



Congratulations! Your basic mail settings are correct and you should be able to send and receive mail.
